Kulturrådet contributes to regional development by creating conditions for cultural development and accessibility throughout the country. Of the approximately 2.5 billion kronor distributed annually by Kulturrådet, 1.3 billion goes directly to regional cultural work through the cultural collaboration model. The funding supports professional art and cultural activities, independent groups, organizations, cultural institutions, and civil society. Kulturrådet also conducts annual dialogues with all regions about their local and regional cultural initiatives and the state financial support they receive.
