Art in Urban Space Karl-Marx-Allee

The "Art in Urban Space Karl-Marx-Allee" project promotes context-based artistic designs addressing social themes at spatially significant urban locations. Initiated by the Art Advisory Board (BAK), it is funded from citywide resources of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe. The non-open, anonymous competition is aimed at artists selected through a prior open application process. Each realized work receives €29,000, and participants receive a design honorarium of €2,000.
