Lisa Maskell Scholarships

The Lisa Maskell Scholarships by the Gerda Henkel Foundation support young humanities scholars from Sub-Saharan Africa with full-time doctoral scholarships at the universities of Stellenbosch, Kampala, and Accra. In addition to financial support, workshops and infrastructural measures are also funded to strengthen the higher education landscape in Africa. Applications are open for doctoral candidates from all Sub-Saharan countries in the fields of archaeology, history, historical Islamic studies, art history, legal history, prehistory, and science history. Applications must be submitted through the local partner institutions, which also set the application deadlines.
