NOperas!

NOperas! is a network of several theaters (including those outside North Rhine-Westphalia) that jointly develops a music theater project each season and presents it in different site-specific variations on all stages. Through annual calls for proposals, a jury comprising theater participants, the organization, and external experts selects innovative projects from the independent scene. Implementation is funded with up to €150,000. For 2025/26, »Die Kantine« by composer, director, and filmmaker Nico Sauer is on the program, with the premiere production at Theater Münster (premiere 27.02.2026) and further development at Staatstheater Darmstadt.
