Project funding in the humanities and social sciences

The Fritz Thyssen Foundation supports projects in the fields of history, language & culture, state, economy & society, as well as medicine and natural sciences. Applications can be submitted by doctoral or habilitated individuals from universities or non-profit research institutions. Funding typically covers a period of up to three years, with an initial approval for two years. Doctoral early-career researchers can apply for their own position. The foundation does not support projects that are solely intended for the completion of doctoral theses. Applications must be submitted in German or English and should be sent both by post and digitally.
